Research overview:

Infectious diseases by pathogen from companion animal with zoonotic significance are a growing problem in today's society, e.g. Rabies, Toxoplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Bartonellosis, Bordetellosis. Research in my laboratory is focused on the pathogensis of Bartonella infection (causing cat scratch disease) with particularly interests in understanding the function of bacterial effector proteins injected into host cell by type IV secretion system.
